Winter Spiti
When temperatures drop to -30°C and the world turns white, The Delek House keeps the fire burning.
The Magic of White Spiti
When most hotels in Kaza shut down for winter, The Delek House stays open — because we believe winter is when Spiti is at its most magical. The frozen rivers, snow-blanketed peaks, and absolute silence create an experience that summer visitors can only dream of.
Our thick mud-rammed walls and traditional Bukhari heating system have kept Spitian families warm for centuries. Add heavy yak-wool blankets, unlimited hot tea, and warming soups from the Delek Cafe, and you have all you need to enjoy the harshest — and most beautiful — season in the Himalayas.
White Spiti Landscape
The entire valley transforms into a pristine white canvas — frozen rivers, snow-covered peaks, and crystal-clear skies create a photographer's paradise.
Bukhari Warmth
Our traditional wood-burning Bukhari keeps the common areas toasty warm. Gather around for chai and stories as temperatures drop to -30°C outside.
Frozen Spiti River
The mighty Spiti River freezes solid, creating surreal ice formations and natural ice bridges that you can walk across.
Snow Leopard Season
Winter is the best time to spot the elusive Snow Leopard as they descend to lower altitudes in search of prey.
Kibber to Chicham Bridge
The highest bridge in Asia connects two villages across a dramatic gorge. In winter, the snow-covered landscape makes this drive unforgettable.
Stargazing
Clear winter nights offer the most spectacular stargazing — zero light pollution and thin atmosphere at 12,500 ft reveal the Milky Way in stunning detail.
